Rhino Brothers Racing

Car Show Pictures

These first two pictures are from a show that I participated at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, MI.  Those of you who have read my Mission Statement & Disclaimer know that I work for Ford Motor Company, but it was still quite cool to be able to drive the car right up front entry and INSIDE the building.

Before the show, I took the opportunity to get a few good photos.  I drove the car right up the front ramp of the WHQ, and parked the car right in front of the main entrance.

This picture was taken about an hour later inside the building during the show.  Behind me is the beautiful 1995 Cobra R clone of Marcus Meredith, who runs the car in SCCA ESP Solo II competition.

The pictures in this section were taken in early June, 1999, at an FSAE competition at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.  FSAE is a competition where college students are tasked with building and racing a Formula car, and I was acting as a volunteer for Ford Motor Company.  I was doing technical inspections, and other organizational tasks.  While I was there, of course, I thought that my car would be a good example of what an SCCA car can look like.  Let's face it, the guys competing in FSAE are very likely to eventually end up as SCCA racers, but few of them will ever get to drive a car such as the Panoz behind me.  This was a real world race car that was within reach, and a hell of a lotta fun!!  :)  Now, onto the pics.

This is an example of an FSAE car.  This car was built by Rensellear Polytechnic Institute (RPI) of Troy, NY.  The cars are extremely light, use restricted motorcycle engines up to 600cc, and just plain haul ass.  Over a hundred cars competed, and the teams varied from being completely unprepared all the way to the teams that worked like a well-oiled machine.

There were a couple other nice cars there, but clearly none as fast as mine.  :)

Yes, smart ass... there ARE more pictures coming.
